Nick Erhard on Comet Arete V1...
the boulders: our hillsides and gullies are strewn with boulders some tall, many short and rounded the most exciting and often most common features of these boulders are the amazing "fontainesque" slopers (open-handed ordeals with sandpaper texture) and pockets (which are somewhat rare in sandstone) many of the hardest climbers in the SouthEast are boulderers and the sickest, most classic problems have been put up lately by the likes of Andrew Traylor, Luis Rodriguez, Adam Henry, John Barr, Josh Gary, Eric Pittman, and many others many of the boulderfields in the area have become world-renown, but still get relatively light traffic and see few roadtrip visitors because of the South's remoteness and moderate obscurity the best areas are: rocktown in georgia, horse pens 40 in alabama, little rock city in tennessee, boat rock in georgia, and so many others bring a pad, slip-ons, and a big brush because you will be putting up new problems left and right the potential for new lines is huge and the classics are unforgettable
